Born with a plastic spoon…

Born in the pre-internet era of 80’s and we grew up learning Windows 3.0. MS Paint and Minesweeper was favourite pass times. While we were still experimenting the new model of Casio calculators and chatted with friends over a wired landline with analog dial, our first portable communication device was the humble pager.

At the same time , The Dixie Bag Company begins manufacturing and marketing plastic bags as an alternative to the then used paper bags in grocery stores in 1980s. By the end of 90s plastic bags made entry into every possible retail outlet. It was so easily folded into our pockets , we used to have a big shopping bag to wrap our books in case we got caught in the rain. Little did we know that it was a Siranjeevi(immortal) further less we knew that we would be eating with plastic spoons and finally end up eating plastic too . Hours of searching in the internet for the lifestyle of my parents and generations before them, this illustration below describes best the simple sustainable livelihood of yesteryears Indian Culture.

When mommies meetup , can we leave the discussion about our kids.. We went a little further more .. We spoke about education standards, health , emotional issues , ECAs.. We discussed how to make kids face future challenges in this world , flying with their own wings …But…we Millenials , the generation which is lucky to see the end of slow life and beginning of fast paced technology have left a big Plastic legacy for our future kids.

We were the first generation to see single use plastic ..Let ours be the last generation to use it too.

Better Late than Never! We took the next step.. Here we converge to set right our mistakes , one small change at a time .. Lets STOP FEEDING PLASTICS#
